Polyphony Project
founded 2016
"Sartsevych: Virtual Return of the Lutsk Genius of Naive Art" is an interregional project that aims to research, digitally preserve, and popularise the legacy of the naive sculptor Stanislav Sartsevych (1904–1984).
In 2025, the Ivan Honchar Museum National Centre of Folk Culture joined the project as a partner.
After the artist’s death, the sculptures he created, made without adherence to traditional techniques, began to deteriorate rapidly. In 1990, a residential building was constructed on the site of his "sculpture garden" in Lutsk, but activists from the Lion Society managed to save some of the works by transporting them to the State Historical and Cultural Reserve in Old Lutsk.
In 2001, the director of the Ivan Honchar Museum Petro Honchar transported these sculptures to Kyiv, where they are still kept in the museum collection.
As part of the partnership, the museum provided Sartsevych’s works for digital fixation to the Skeiron team. As a result, more than 30 three-dimensional models of sculptures were created — both preserved originals and reconstructions of the lost heritage recreated from archival photographs.
The models are presented on a special online landing page of the project, an open resource for researchers, art historians, and a wide audience.

The museum also hosted a performance of the "SHARZH" Theater "A sudden fairy tale in the middle of the city", created as an artistic commentary on Sartsevych’s creative legacy.
The project was implemented by the "Algorytm" NGO with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation in cooperation with the Ivan Honchar Museum and partners.
